2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid
The new Toyota Tundra has arrived with a modern look and hybrid powertrain option. This is an entirely new 3rd generation Tundra which replaces the previous model that was first released back in 2007. It shares the same global platform as the mighty Land Cruiser and will be available in two wheelbases in either double max or crew cab configurations.
For the TRD Pro model a hybrid powertrain will be on offer that comprises of a 3.4L twin turbocharged V6 engine and an electric motor that is sandwiched between the engine and the 10-speed transmission’s torque converter. This setup pumps out 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque with the electric motor fed by a nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery pack placed under the rear seats. There is an EV only mode for driving but speed is limited to 18 mph, and the range will likely be very limited.
